How Can I Be Saved?
The simple plan of salvation according to Romans 10:9-10, 13 says,
9) If you declare with your mouth (outward confession), Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart (inward belief) that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10) For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
13) For, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Salvation simply means being made right with God. Because of the disobedience of Adam, according to Genesis, humanity was separated from God our Creator. The only way we could be.
3- Reconciled to God was through atonement. Someone had to satisfy (pay for) God’s wrath. God’s justice and righteousness would not allow Him to just forget about humanity’s disobedience through Adam. So, He sent Jesus to pay for His wrath. Jesus freely sacrificed his life (beingcrucified on a Roman cross) in place of our own life, so that we would be made right with God.
2- Corinthians 5:21 makes it plain, “God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him (Jesus) we might become the righteousness of God.”
